My neighborhood has one of those nice looking fountain ponds that is pretty featureless for fish - shallow muck bottom and little structure. Pretty place, though:

I had not fished it in a while as it has never been all that good; a few tiny fish here and there. But they did treat it and get a different management company at some point and I had heard it was a little better. I grabbed some rods and a couple of kids and headed down there. I grabbed the wrong rod for myself, grabbing a heavy rod instead of my UL that I promptly tangled. Kids were fishing without much luck anyway:

One of them bored of it and I took her rod and walked the bank for a while not really seeing much and getting only one weak bite. I was almost trance casting when I finally got a decent bite near a storm drain culvert. It was an OK bream:

Size 10.5 sneaker for reference. I tried a few more casts in the same area and caught one a little larger:

So I called the kids over and gave the rod back to my daughter hoping they might get a couple. They did, almost immediately; a double of big bream:

Then my daughter caught a little bass:

And my son had to match that:

A few more big bream and another small bass were caught. Here are their last two bream, with the last one my son caught being the largest of the day:

I think I need to start visiting it more, and next time I will make sure to grab the right rod...
