Sea to Summit Sit on Top Kayak Cart

Had been wanting, and badly needing, a kayak cart to be able to go out more solo and finally broke down this weekend and got one. I don't have the scrap parts and/or expert welding skills like some of the other guys on the forum, which all look great by the way, and didn't feel like trying to 'McGyver' something. I had already looked online a little but did a little more research but wanted to go out and buy one so I could use it Sunday.

Checked out a few sites and saw that REI had a sale going on and they had the Sea to Summit SOT kayak cart on sale for 25% off. I'm right around the corner from the REI at North Hills so I headed up there only to find out they don't even sell kayak stuff at that location, just at the other two.

Still determined to get one local instead of buying online and waiting for it to ship, I shot on over to GOPC in Cameron Village to see what their selection looked liked. They ended up having the same one and after pulling up the ad online (aren't smart phones great) the manager agreed to match the price, thanks very much for that!

Before, if one of my buddies wasn't with me, I would have to throw my Ride 135 on my shoulder and walk it all the way around my row of townhouses, up a hill, and back around to the front to my car. This was a pain, literally and figuratively, and then I'd still have to throw it up on the car which was difficult after carrying it all the way up there.

Cart is great and now I wish I had just went ahead and bought it about a month ago. It is light but seems to be very durable. It is adjustable and fits through the scupper plugs on the kayak then you just strap it down. Has good clearance and it handled hills, roots, and bumps very well. Was a breeze to carry it from parking lot down to the launch point at Lake Lynn. Glad I got it and would recommend it to anyone.
