Took the yak out this morning. I got on the water at 7:15am, had my first bite at 7:16, crank bait, 1st cast. He was a lil LMB with a "quick release" on the lift out. Caught another small LMB in the next 10 min. After drifting around points and drops, I caught a white perch, also on the same crank bait. I moved off another point and felt something weird... Whatever it was I missed it I guess.. Next cast, it hit again. It was a 14in slab crappie! What a weird fight when you are not expecting it ha...I have never kept a fish out of fresh water, but my dad was with me, and wanted some dinner so he kept the crappie.
About 15min after that the sun was blazing, no cloud cover and no bites. Fish were deep on the FF, 14-20ft... I am having trouble catching these deeper fish, I messed around with a drop shot rig for a while, but no takers. I did end up losing another bass on a creature, but thats it.. Not a bad day, kept me busy I guess..
