my cousin is in town for a week to visit so I set up a quick trip out the inlet for him. We were on the dock at 6 am, and made the LONG run from Clubfoot to the inlet. We went out the channel and dropped in the spoons. We passed over a school of bait in about 40 feet of water and fish on. Circled around, and again, and again and again...
We put a 1/2 dozen spanish in the boat, a small false albie, and a blue. Nothing huge, but fish none the less. My youngest son was joining us for his first trip off the beach. He was a bit sleepy to start but quickly woke up. We continued to work that pattern until it dried up. We trolled for another hour or so and then decided to th head to AR 330. We got there, looking around a bit for marks, found nothing. We bottom fished for about an hour with no action so we moved back into another AR. Things picked up fast there.
With in an hour we'd boated a 3 foot shark, a 20-25in Cobia, 1/2 dozen sea bass, and some hog fish. All returned to the sea.
The Storms building were beginning to worry me knowing we'd have a long run home so I we pulled the hook and off we went.
End to a successful and great day on the water. Seas were at 2ft or less most of the day and I couldn't have asked for better weather.
