Dropped the boat in the water about 6:30am Thursday morning at Radio Island with my neighbor Eddie and his son and headed out the Beaufort inlet.

Made the right turn and arrived in the area of the Oceania pier in about 30' to 35' of water and started trolling in the direction of AR 315 because we could see birds in that direction. We picked up two nice spanish before we arrived at 315. When we arrived at 315 we noticed all kinds of bait in the water from menhaden to glass minnows. Even saw a school of spanish skying on the bait. Trolled around the area and picked up 24 more spanish before the bite died around 11 am. We Continued to troll for another hour or so without a single hit before heading back in to the Beaufort water front for lunch then home.

All fish were caught on 00 and 0 gold and silver clark spoons pulled behind 1 1/2 or 2 oz. trolling weight. The planers and hand lines produced nothing Thursday. Several times both trolling weight rods were going off at the same time. That's music to my ears. :)

It was a great day on the water with two great friends.- hate they have to go back to Burlington.
