My son ordered a Spro bronze eye frog online last week and has been asking me everyday when he gets home from school if the frog arrived in the mail.I've been replying not yet son maybe it'll arrive tomorrow. So a couple of days pass and today it arrives in the mail.I took his package and set it in his room and first thing he ask when he got home from school was if his frog arrived..haha..I said sure did go open it up and lets try it out at the pond.He unpackaged the frog and I thought to myself that it was a good choice in color "tropical white".We geared up and headed out to the pond around 5pm and we started casting away.I got a good hit on my Koppers live target mouse I just bought.I seen the bass take my mouse underwater for like 2-3 seconds and I can feel the bass moving so I tried to set my hook and all I got was a mouse flying straight towards me!So my son goes back to that same spot and trys his new Spro frog and the same thing happens, the bass hit the frog but didnt quite gulp it down.We tried on that bass for a bit and it just didnt want to come back to play so we changed spots. We went back around to the oppositte side of the pond and I tied on my chartreuse X-caliber square bill crank and we pitched away.I fished my favorite area by the storm drain and my boy fished near this laydown we been working on for awhile now.Anyhow my Xcaliber squarebill ends up getting hung up in a tree and I snapped 30lbs of braid trying to get it back which failed and my lure stayed in the tree..haha..As I come walking from around the tree nodding my head my son had witnessed the whole "lure loss" scene and was nodding his head as well when suddenly this monster swallows his frog in front of us both in like 2ft of water! I seen this huge splash and my sons face dropped and his eyes widened and he set that hook and made the bass jump twice!haha..my son was trying to say something but he was speechless as he reeled that bad boy in! He brings it in and throws it on the scale for 4 pounds! And on his brandnew Spro frog! Way to go son!
