cold, dreary day and a stupid brookie.

just started feeling warm, it's been a cold foggy wet day on the stream. All this talk of large fish has got me slinging big streamers and hunting fish. Hit one of my favorite out of the way streams I usually spin fish. Changed my floating line spool for my sinking line and started with an olive sex dungeon. It was several hours before I got my first fish, a foot long rainbow:o, though not large, a fish none the less. It was mostly practicing my casting today:( hits were few and the water was up and dingy. Thought the off colored water would be my friend, but it made spotting fish dificult. Caught only three fish, two bows and a brookie ( more on him shortly) the other rainbow came on a #8 black and coffee pats rubberleg I drifted by a rootwad. The brookie played interference for a larger fish:mad:. I had to back track back to my first hole to look for a glove I lost, decided to give this awesome looking log another chance. I had aa #6 brownn slumpbuster tied on a short leader. I was dead drifting my streamer at the top of thge log and a shadow appears:D. I'ts following my offering slowly, but he's commiting:). Im even doing the "Jaws" theme out loud. He's not enormous, but probably 15-16 inches and this dumb brookie comes over and takes it over. So at least I know he's there, and I may try tomorrow to see how long he is.
