Aggravating is the only word I can think of right now that will hpoefully make it past the moderators! Can anyone provide me with some information regarding the gill netters that invade Broad and Gales creeks seemingly every time the trout get reasonably thick? They (and it may be just one guy) go upstream under the bridges and appear to be slowly cruising and looking for schools of specks. When they find some, they'll deploy a net in a semi or full circle and either run the boat or smack the oars on the surface in order to herd the trout into their nets. My questions: 1) Is this activity legal? and 2) What are the commercial netting limits? If the activity is legal, then I'll just quietly watch the slaughter and continue to be p----d off. If there's anything illegal happening, what is the suggested course of action? Short of dropping a cinderblock on the boats as they pass back under the bridge, what can be done?
