Inshore Stripers in the sound??

Next weekend, I'm going to the OBX for a long weekend and want to fish. This will be the first time this year i'll be able to fish saltwater.

Does anyone fish for stripers in the sound around Manteo or inland towards the mouth of the Roanoke or ablemarle sound? I wanna take the boat and try but wondering if the stripers are non existant.

Would also love to find some places to catch crappie near there but a change of pace would be great.
