Skunk on the boat (but still caught fish)

Made plans to meet up with the Pedal Pirate (Joey B)on Saturday morning for some more Kerr striper action.

I managed to run over an already dead skunk on Hwy 15 that somehow was able to get some stench on the bottom of my car, my trailer and on the bottom of my Pro Angler. I try not to be superstitious, but that just seemed to be a bad sign for the day.

Luckily, the weather was great and the fish were cooperative. I caught one white bass, 5-6 blue catfish, 9-10 stripers and one crappie. The stripers ranged from 19-23" but most were 21-22". The crappie was 16" and my best ever crappie (and best white crappie by a long shot). Not much sport reeling in the crappie on striper gear but I was still happy to land it. All of the stipers except 2 came from one small area within appx an hour. I just trolled figure 8's over this one area of the channel and got bit pretty much every pass.

Joey caught 4-5 stripers I believe and we also ran into turtlestewsbro out there and I think he said he had one cat, one striper and one white bass.

The only negative for me on the day is now my garage smells like skunk from the residue on the trailer lol.
