I hit Fontana for about 4 hours today. I put in on the tuck and headed down river. I saw some breaking fish near the mouth of Forney Creek. Stopped to try them but struck out.
My motor flooded out and would not restart so I was forced to rely on my electric motor only.
I marked some fish at 27-36 and 55-80. I missed about 5 deep on a spoon and had a couple small mouths sling my jig off at the boat.
Despite the rain and no landed fish I saw 2 bald eagles. One caught a small fish about 100 feet away from me. That was worth the trip.
That was my first Fontana trip since April and my second in about 8 years. There is a learning curve for sure.
Ill be back Thursday. Hopefully my luck will get better. I repaired my motor when I got home. The choke was hung.
i can't wait to go back.
