I went fishing yesterday morning for crappie at jordan lake. Only caught a few yellow perch.
Wasnt going to go again today but the weather was just too nice and the kayak was already on the car so after lunch i headed to jordan again. I checked both gas stations by farrington rd and 64 and one was closed and the other was out of minnows so i headed north all the way to the BP past farrington and they were closed too. Went all the way back to 64 and across the lake to the baitshop near pittsboro and finally found a gas station with some minnows.
I was planning to go to the 64 bridge but seaforth was closed so i launched from ebeneazer. Fished from 2 til 5:30 and caught 2 fat keepers at 12 inches and 7 undersized crappie. Im used to catching a ton of those little 4-5 inch fish for every keeper but today 5 of the 7 undersized ones were at or a little over 9 inches but still too small. All of the fish came off of 1 bridge piling 2 cranks off the bottom in 25 FOW.
At 5:30 it was getting pretty dark so i loaded the kayak onto the van and finished off my minnows fishing from the dock til about 6. Found tons of little yellow perch and one more keeper crappie.
Took 3 home for dinner. Anyone have any recomendations for a good $20-30 fillet knife?
