Rock on the Roanoke info

A very knowledgable and trustworthy friend that spends considerable time fishing on the Roanoke this time of the year made this post on another website:

Anybody heading that way to shad or rockfish might want to check the water levels and flows before buring $4.00 a gallon gas.
Seems levels are going up and the flows may head all the way up to or exceeding 13,700cfs and then fall to around 9,000cfs once Kerr is under flood control mode.

Doesn't mean fishing will be bad, but the fish do like some level flows to really turn on up that way.

Also to folks that are new up there and have gotten used to a 2500/3500cfs flow, be REAL CAREFUL as you can still hit a bunch of rocks, but the current will get you quickly if a motor doesn't crank on the first try, or the anchor doesn't hold, or you slam into floating debris (think LOGS), and loading and unloading the boat can get a little more tricky!!!
