I got into an area full of small white perch last week right before I had to leave, so I decided to go back and today and try to find them again.

Longing lining crappie jigs in 3-6 FOW did the trick today. Caught pretty even numbers on chartruese homemade jigs and luma glow gulp.

19 by my count, too small to mess with cleaning them, but they are out of the lake freeing up resources for the crappie. These guys are in my freezer right now, and will be planted under my tomato and pepper plants in a few days. Slow release organic fertilizer at its best.

Every once in a while there were some blow ups on topwater. I was in the right place at the right time once. Hooked this one on a suspending jerkbait.

I also caught 3 crappie, one of which would have been enough to keep but turned it loose. The sunfish were shallow too. Caught probably 5-6 shellcrackers and 7-8 bluegills.

Other than that just some "by-catch":)

Pretty good sport on a crappie rod.

The bigger one is my biggest channel cat ever. I didn't get a length or weight, but I feel safe in saying it was over 10lbs, so that makes it a citation fish. If anyone has any guesses on the weight I'd be interested (even if you think it was under 10).

Thanks for reading.
