Put in at the Cool Springs ramp and started out on the Neuse across from the mouth of Swift Creek. Water was HIGH, flowing fast and the wind was almost blowing a gale. Only fished there a few minutes before deciding to take shelter in a sleugh parelleling Swift Creek. Started marking fish at 5-6 ft. as I headed for the back of the sleugh, so I went to the back, dropped minnows at 5-6 feet and just let the current/wind drift me toward the Neuse. Not a single bite! Decided I'd had enough of the wind by 11:00 and headed in.
