The two day tournament at Buggs Island is over and it turned out to be 2 great days to be on the water,.............well, except for the wind today, didn't know it was hurricane season already.
Phillip and Ryan Perkins took the lead Saturday with 13.10 lbs and held on for the win with Sundays catch of 7.15 lbs for a total of 21.9 lbs. They also captured the big fish win with a 4.3 lbr on Saturday, congratulations to Phillip and Ryan for their win. Rounding out the top 3 were Mark Butner and Eddie West with 15.4lbs for second place and Charles and Jody Hughes with 13.9lbs for third place.
Finding keepers was though, plenty of 13 1/2 thru 13 7/8 inchers was no problem at all to catch, but keepers were few and far between. Catches were reported to be on buzzbaits, crankbaits, flukes, jigs and Carolina rigs, the two best fish were stated to have came on crankbaits, both caught by Phillip and Ryan, they also had a 3.11 to go along with their 4.3 on Saturday.
Our next tournament is at High Rock on June 9th, we have two more teams that will be joining the club starting with the June 9th tourney but we are still needing more members, so give us a call if you are looking to join a club with a great group of guys, and gals to fish with.
