So I got a call from my buddy asking if I wanted to do a near shore half day trip since the forecast was saying 10 to 15knt increasing to 15 to 20 knt in the afternoon. So we headed out into the wind and rough seas which calmed down some as the wind died down a bit. So we pushed out to the Divers Rock area and put out the trolling gear and picked up a couple of nice Spanish and legal Black Sea Bass. Since we were getting legal Black Sea Bass trolling we decided to bounce bottom for a bit and we were only getting smaller Black Sea Bass so we went back to trolling. We trolled some of the ledges with little luck so we trolled up the beach some. Seen a pod of menhaden and we worked that bait ball picking up Blue Fish and Spanish. After passing by Seaview pier we pushed out to the Seaview ledge were we bounce bottom again picking up some smaller Black Sea Bass. Then I got a strange puffer type of fish. When it puffed up only the the white under side which had spines expanded and not it's top half which was a olive/brownish color. Once the wind started to pick up in the afternoon we headed to the hill.
