Well, the surf worked out ok, but the turf was a total bust.
Friend met me and Zach at our house about 6:45 and we took off to Jordan. After a stop at Bojangles and the station for some minnows, we werere on the water and fishing by 8:30. Started fishing at about 28 foot deep and caught our fisrt one at 23'. Fished on up to about 15', but didn't hit anything that shallow. Worked back out and the magic depth was 20-23' all day. Tried a couple different places and the magic depth was the same. Ended up catching 80 on the clicker and keeping a dozen from 11 to 13+" for my father in law an early Christmas gift. Also caught one catfish and lost either a big white bass or small striper right at the boat. Water temp was from 52 first thing to about 54/55 when we left at 12:30. Most all of the fish were caught right on the bottom using a double rig and most fish coming on the bottom hook. Saw Chief fishing a bit before we left and he was picking up some on the jigs. Fun and beautiful day on the water.
Was in the stand by 4pm and enjoyed the setting sun, but unfortunately no deer moving where we were hunting. An empty lake is a nice reward for working weekends.
