1995 Mercury 75hp w/oil injection, maybe 50 hours on the motor. Carbs have been freshly rebuilt, fresh fuel and a firm bulb, oil resevoir full. Brand new battery and starter turns just fine with the switch. Kill switch lanyard was on the throttle control where it was supposed to be.
Here was the symptom: Intermittantly, no spark on any cylinder. When it started, it fired up on the first turn of the key but when it didn't you could just hang it up. Didn't matter if the powerhead was cold first thing in the morning or if it was warm in the sun - Sometimes she fired, sometimes she wouldn't.
I haven't had the problem ever before, ran it for 45 minutes last week without a problem. The problem only started when I loaded up to go fishing with LuckyOne the other day. Found the answer but it took all day - starts reliably now.
I'm gonna order myself some NCAngler decals so the first one to peg the solution gets one too ;)
